Dr. Ishak Lawal

Dr. Ishak lawal is a consultant gynaecologist with interest in gynaecologic oncology and a passionate cancer advocate. He graduated from university of Ibadan and did his residency training at university teaching hospital Gwagwalada. He subsequently attended cancer institute Chennai India to acquire more skills in gynaecologic oncology surgeries. He also did a 2 year clinical exchange program at Hull Royal Infirmary, Hull East Yorkshire NHS UK.

He has selflessly contributed to the development of several individuals and organisations within the cancer space in Nigeria. He played a critical role in the efforts that led to reactivation of Nigerian Cancer Society in 2016 when he served as the secretary of the organising committee for the annual general meeting of the association.

He is the Executive Director of End Cervical Cancer Nigeria initiative(ECCNI)- an NGO with an overarching goal of placing Nigeria on the path to cervical cancer elimination. He is a member of many professional bodies including, GOSON; Gynaecologic Oncology Society of Nigeria, AORTIC, IPOS, NMA etc.
