ABOUT NIOLA CANCER CARE FOUNDATION

Niola Cancer Care Foundation (NCCF) is committed to improving colorectal cancer outcomes through awareness, advocacy, early detection, patient support, education, and stakeholder engagement.

The Foundation is implementing a project to promote colorectal cancer awareness, early detection, equitable access to screening, and improved health outcomes in Ogun State.

JOB PURPOSE

The Project Support Officer will provide administrative, logistical, field, and documentation support for the implementation of the project.

The officer will work under the guidance of the Project Lead and closely with the NCCF team, healthcare professionals, community stakeholders, volunteers, and project beneficiaries to support the smooth delivery of project activities.

The role will involve assisting with community outreach, mobilization, screening activities, data collection, documentation, communication, and general project coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Activity Support

  • Assist the Project Lead and NCCF team in implementing project activities.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of project activities, meetings, outreach programmes, and screening exercises.
  • Assist with arrangements for venues, materials, equipment, participants, and other project logistics.
  • Follow up on assigned tasks and provide updates to the Project Lead.
  • Support the team during project activities and ensure that assigned responsibilities are completed.
  • Report any challenges encountered during project activities to the Project Lead.

2. Community Outreach & Mobilization

  • Support community mobilization for colorectal cancer awareness and screening activities.
  • Assist in communicating with community members, volunteers, and local stakeholders.
  • Support the registration and coordination of participants during outreach and screening activities.
  • Assist with the distribution of approved colorectal cancer educational materials.
  • Encourage community participation in project activities.

3. Data Collection & Documentation

  • Assist with the collection and recording of project data.
  • Maintain accurate attendance registers, participant records, activity reports, and other project documents.
  • Assist in organizing questionnaires, feedback forms, and other data collection tools.
  • Support the compilation of project activity information for reporting.
  • Ensure that photographs and other evidence of project activities are properly documented, where appropriate and with necessary consent.

4. Project Reporting Support

  • Assist the Project Lead in preparing activity reports and project updates.
  • Provide timely information on activities attended or supported.
  • Assist in documenting project achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and success stories.
  • Support the organization and filing of project documents for easy retrieval.

5. Stakeholder & Team Support

  • Assist in maintaining good communication with project stakeholders, community representatives, healthcare facilities, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
  • Support the NCCF team during meetings and project-related engagements.
  • Participate in project planning and review meetings as required.
  • Carry out other reasonable project-related duties assigned by the Project Lead or Management.

6. Communications & Visibility

  • Assist in documenting project activities through photographs, short reports, and other approved content.
  • Support the communications team with information about project activities for social media and other communication platforms.
  • Ensure that approved NCCF and GCCA branding/visibility requirements are followed during project activities.
  • Assist in collecting beneficiary stories and testimonials where appropriate and with informed consent.

KEY DELIVERABLES

The Project Support Officer will be expected to:

  • Provide timely support for project activities.
  • Maintain accurate participant and activity records.
  • Support community mobilization and outreach activities.
  • Provide timely activity updates to the Project Lead.
  • Support the preparation of project activity reports.
  • Maintain organized project documentation.
  • Assist with the collection of project data and supporting evidence.
  • Support the documentation of project success stories and lessons learned.
  • Carry out assigned project duties within agreed timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in NGO work, community outreach, public health, health promotion, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Experience working with communities or supporting health-related programmes is an added advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in community outreach and field activities within Ogun State.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle project information responsibly.
  • Must be proactive, reliable, organized, and willing to learn.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

Reports to: Project Lead

Works closely with: NCCF Project Team, Healthcare Partners, Community Mobilizers, Volunteers, and other project stakeholders.

DURATION

This is a short-term, project-based position tied to the implementation period of the GCCA-supported project.

WORKING DAYS

3 days field work, 1 day at the office

SALARY

Basic 175k, operational transport stipend and communication
